Khan Academy's Khanmigo and similar AI tutors handle personalised instruction better than a teacher with 30 students. But classroom management, pastoral care, and the babysitting function of school are genuinely hard to automate. Teaching has real lag defences -- not because AI can't teach, but because society needs somewhere to put children during working hours.
