Social work requires home visits, crisis intervention, court appearances, and building trust with vulnerable people in chaotic environments. AI can handle paperwork and case documentation (and should), but the core work is irreducibly human and physical. Low pay is the bigger threat than AI -- the profession can't attract talent, not because AI replaces it, but because society doesn't value it.
